Narrative:

They had given me taxi to 32L, a runway that I hadn't used for a month or so due to prevailing winds. Using this runway (different than all the others I use at the field) you have to taxi across the taxiway from the ramp area to get on the runway. Instead upon cleared for takeoff, I turned left onto the taxiway. I got about 500 ft down the taxiway (maximum speed 30 KTS) when the tower stopped me. They turned me around, I went back and was immediately again cleared to takeoff on 32L, which I did. I attribute the cause of the mistake to several factors. Fatigue: I had just worked 12 days straight, including a national guard weekend of 18 hour days. Illness: the stuffy nose turned into flu and I was in bed for a whole 3 day weekend.

Title: BEGAN TKOF ON A TXWY PARALLEL TO HIS ASSIGNED RWY. TKOF ABORTED.

Narrative: THEY HAD GIVEN ME TAXI TO 32L, A RWY THAT I HADN'T USED FOR A MONTH OR SO DUE TO PREVAILING WINDS. USING THIS RWY (DIFFERENT THAN ALL THE OTHERS I USE AT THE FIELD) YOU HAVE TO TAXI ACROSS THE TXWY FROM THE RAMP AREA TO GET ON THE RWY. INSTEAD UPON CLRED FOR TKOF, I TURNED L ONTO THE TXWY. I GOT ABOUT 500 FT DOWN THE TXWY (MAX SPD 30 KTS) WHEN THE TWR STOPPED ME. THEY TURNED ME AROUND, I WENT BACK AND WAS IMMEDIATELY AGAIN CLRED TO TKOF ON 32L, WHICH I DID. I ATTRIBUTE THE CAUSE OF THE MISTAKE TO SEVERAL FACTORS. FATIGUE: I HAD JUST WORKED 12 DAYS STRAIGHT, INCLUDING A NATIONAL GUARD WEEKEND OF 18 HR DAYS. ILLNESS: THE STUFFY NOSE TURNED INTO FLU AND I WAS IN BED FOR A WHOLE 3 DAY WEEKEND.
