Narrative:

Flight pit-pvd. After takeoff at 1700 ft MSL, right engine overheat indication. Right engine EPR was approximately .20 less than left. This was followed shortly by an engine fire indication. As right throttle was retarded to idle, fire/overheat lights extinguished. Accomplished emergency checklist, declared an emergency, notified pit operations, and returned to land at pit. A precautionary since engine approach with right engine at idle was flown. After landing exited runway, shutdown right engine, and terminated the emergency. At the gate maintenance indicated the probable cause was a blown duct.
