Narrative:

We have operated light transport aircraft models for about a yr now. The EFIS auxiliary power test required by the before engine start checklist always comes out bad (it fails test) but maintenance won't fix it so we fly or don't get paid. Have never had a test passed! Aircraft trip log and data reference books and operations manual, etc, are loose in the cockpit with no storage racks. They are a missile hazard and could jam the controls. I have told the company about these problems over and over, but nothing gets done.
