Narrative:

On a scheduled morning revenue flight from pilot domicile (and aircraft maintenance base) the paperwork for the aircraft was signed off as airworthy (after scheduled maintenance inspection the night before). Upon arriving at destination operations informed the pilots that the plane was grounded. We were informed that the fire extinguishing system was inoperative/removed the night before. This is a required item and none of this was indicated to the pilots on the paperwork or verbally. Apparently it was a mistake of the mechanics. I would suggest more redundancy in the maintenance process, and/or pilot access to specific work performed in maintenance.

Narrative: ON A SCHEDULED MORNING REVENUE FLT FROM PLT DOMICILE (AND ACFT MAINT BASE) THE PAPERWORK FOR THE ACFT WAS SIGNED OFF AS AIRWORTHY (AFTER SCHEDULED MAINT INSPECTION THE NIGHT BEFORE). UPON ARRIVING AT DEST OPS INFORMED THE PLTS THAT THE PLANE WAS GNDED. WE WERE INFORMED THAT THE FIRE EXTINGUISHING SYS WAS INOPERATIVE/REMOVED THE NIGHT BEFORE. THIS IS A REQUIRED ITEM AND NONE OF THIS WAS INDICATED TO THE PLTS ON THE PAPERWORK OR VERBALLY. APPARENTLY IT WAS A MISTAKE OF THE MECHS. I WOULD SUGGEST MORE REDUNDANCY IN THE MAINT PROCESS, AND/OR PLT ACCESS TO SPECIFIC WORK PERFORMED IN MAINT.
