Narrative:

I was going from vero beach to melbourne to shoot some IFR approachs with a rented small aircraft category utility, spin approved. After the takeoff, I departed eastbound to follow the coastline. I knew that some of my friends were there. So I ask the tower to maintain the area in front of the beach up to 1500 ft and I got that. So the temptation has been greater than my judgement. I performed a series of snap roll, aileron roll, and steep turn. Everything went good. I was always above 1000 ft and never close to the beach. Before leaving I decided to stall the airplane. I don't know what but the airplane fell on a side, that in other words it was a very quick spin. I was at 900 ft, a few moments to realize that, and I performed the procedures to recover from a spin, but I recovered the aircraft at about 20 ft on the water. I got scared. Anyway even in this event I was not close enough to the beach to create any danger for anybody, except me and my friend that was a passenger. We were not wearing parachutes, and I've not been always at 1500 ft min. After that I came back to land.

Narrative: I WAS GOING FROM VERO BEACH TO MELBOURNE TO SHOOT SOME IFR APCHS WITH A RENTED SMA CATEGORY UTILITY, SPIN APPROVED. AFTER THE TKOF, I DEPARTED EBOUND TO FOLLOW THE COASTLINE. I KNEW THAT SOME OF MY FRIENDS WERE THERE. SO I ASK THE TWR TO MAINTAIN THE AREA IN FRONT OF THE BEACH UP TO 1500 FT AND I GOT THAT. SO THE TEMPTATION HAS BEEN GREATER THAN MY JUDGEMENT. I DON'T KNOW WHAT BUT THE AIRPLANE FELL ON A SIDE, THAT IN OTHER WORDS IT WAS A VERY QUICK SPIN. I WAS AT 900 FT, A FEW MOMENTS TO REALIZE THAT, AND I PERFORMED THE PROCS TO RECOVER FROM A SPIN, BUT I RECOVERED THE ACFT AT ABOUT 20 FT ON THE WATER. I GOT SCARED. ANYWAY EVEN IN THIS EVENT I WAS NOT CLOSE ENOUGH TO THE BEACH TO CREATE ANY DANGER FOR ANYBODY, EXCEPT ME AND MY FRIEND THAT WAS A PAX. WE WERE NOT WEARING PARACHUTES, AND I'VE NOT BEEN ALWAYS AT 1500 FT MIN. AFTER THAT I CAME BACK TO LAND.
