Narrative:

During a rushed hurry up departure from the gate the agent gave the so a slip stating we had 101 passenger on board. During takeoff (holey) the copilot said the takeoff felt funny -- slow getting off the ground and he added a little power to maximum at time. Only during climb did we happen to find out that there were 147 passenger on board not 101, a 6500 pound difference 3K V1 vr. Had I known actual weight, I would have used 25 degrees flaps not 15 degrees. Did not make a big deal out of this as I didn't want to get agent fired, but on landing I did call back to dca and raised a little hell with chief agent who immediately talked to agent who worked trip. Our procedures are supposed to avoid this as senior flight attendant said she did tell agent 147 on board before she closed door. Could have been dangerous had we been heavier or over legal takeoff limits.

Title: LGT TOOK OFF WITH 147 PAX ON BOARD RATHER THAN 101 AS STATED IN WT AND BAL.

Narrative: DURING A RUSHED HURRY UP DEP FROM THE GATE THE AGENT GAVE THE SO A SLIP STATING WE HAD 101 PAX ON BOARD. DURING TKOF (HOLEY) THE COPLT SAID THE TKOF FELT FUNNY -- SLOW GETTING OFF THE GND AND HE ADDED A LITTLE PWR TO MAX AT TIME. ONLY DURING CLB DID WE HAPPEN TO FIND OUT THAT THERE WERE 147 PAX ON BOARD NOT 101, A 6500 POUND DIFFERENCE 3K V1 VR. HAD I KNOWN ACTUAL WT, I WOULD HAVE USED 25 DEGS FLAPS NOT 15 DEGS. DID NOT MAKE A BIG DEAL OUT OF THIS AS I DIDN'T WANT TO GET AGENT FIRED, BUT ON LNDG I DID CALL BACK TO DCA AND RAISED A LITTLE HELL WITH CHIEF AGENT WHO IMMEDIATELY TALKED TO AGENT WHO WORKED TRIP. OUR PROCS ARE SUPPOSED TO AVOID THIS AS SENIOR FLT ATTENDANT SAID SHE DID TELL AGENT 147 ON BOARD BEFORE SHE CLOSED DOOR. COULD HAVE BEEN DANGEROUS HAD WE BEEN HEAVIER OR OVER LEGAL TKOF LIMITS.
