Narrative:

While flying with the canopy open, my sectional chart departed the aircraft. I was forced to use dead reckoning for navigation. Visibility was poor due to haze. I was not familiar with the area I was transitioning through and flew through restr area 4001 and baltimore TCA class B. I thought I had circumnaved the area. I also tried several times for flight following but had no success in reaching a controller.
