Narrative:

About 10 mins into the flight after passing through 10500 ft for 11000 ft the cargo smoke light illuminated. We idented the problem and fired 1 cargo fire extinguisher bottle. The light went out. We declared an emergency and proceeded to clt. We complied with the emergency checklist. The landing was uneventful and the crash fire rescue equipment was waiting. We pulled off the runway, shutdown and deplaned the passenger. The crash fire rescue equipment crew checked the cargo compartment and found no fire. All procedures were handled professionally.

Title: CAPT OF ACR LTT ACFT RETURNED TO ARPT AFTER EXPERIENCING A CARGO FIRE WARNING.

Narrative: ABOUT 10 MINS INTO THE FLT AFTER PASSING THROUGH 10500 FT FOR 11000 FT THE CARGO SMOKE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. WE IDENTED THE PROBLEM AND FIRED 1 CARGO FIRE EXTINGUISHER BOTTLE. THE LIGHT WENT OUT. WE DECLARED AN EMER AND PROCEEDED TO CLT. WE COMPLIED WITH THE EMER CHKLIST. THE LNDG WAS UNEVENTFUL AND THE CFR WAS WAITING. WE PULLED OFF THE RWY, SHUTDOWN AND DEPLANED THE PAX. THE CFR CREW CHKED THE CARGO COMPARTMENT AND FOUND NO FIRE. ALL PROCS WERE HANDLED PROFESSIONALLY.
