Narrative:

I was descending into boulder airport traffic pattern from 11500 ft stopping the descent at 7500 ft MSL to fly 'friendly' over the city as recommended. I was about 2 mi east of rapidly rising terrain which also is prime glider lift area. The area I was flying through was glider transition area -- on their way back to boulder airport. Glider came in at my 9 O'clock position and both aircraft took evasive action. Since most lcls know this is high density glider area, I suggest that the glider symbol be added to the TCA and sectional charts in this area so others (like myself) that are based elsewhere can be alerted to their presence.
