Narrative:

Approach, landing, taxi in, and braking were all normal. While approaching the gate in cmh, the ground signal person issued the normal stop signal. When I attempted to apply the brakes to stop, the aircraft continued to move forward. I immediately applied reverse thrust and turned the nosewheel steering to avoid hitting the terminal. The aircraft came to a stop and was repositioned at the gate using a tractor. Subsequent examination of the aircraft revealed that the #2 slat had contacted the jetway prior to stopping. This aircraft had experienced the same type of brake problem the previous evening in nashville. An appropriate log entry was made indicating that this problem should be fixed prior to further flight.
