Narrative:

Air carrier X was taxiing to runway 9L. Air carrier X requested new numbers for maximum power runway 9L -- ATC tower told us to taxi position and hold -- we told ATC we were awaiting new numbers. ATC then directed us to hold short on the pad at runway 9L. As we were arriving on the pad our new numbers came up over ACARS and we advised ATC we were ready. Tower then said 'ah -- air carrier X (hesitation) taxi position and hold runway 9L' -- we acknowledged with 'position and hold runway 9L air carrier X.' we completed our checklists and were turning the corner when tower instructed 'runway 9L cleared for takeoff.' we acknowledged and started takeoff roll -- just after V1, we noticed another same company air carrier Y runway 32L rolling towards the runways 32L/9L intersection on a collision course. Captain commanded first officer to 'get it up' (first officer's leg) and we passed directly overhead air carrier Y. At 1000 ft AGL after aircraft cleanup the captain queried the controller above the near miss. The controller replied 'oh I see that now it was my fault -- sorry about that.' supplemental information from acn 213872: taking off runway 32R ord another aircraft cleared to takeoff on runway 9L. Approaching intersection noticed air carrier X. Advanced throttles to firewall clearing intersection. Air carrier X airborne about 2000-2500 ft from our point.
