Narrative:

I am a new captain, 50 hours of IOE. We were finishing a long day, started at XY30. Controller asked how I was navigating. I stated V-2, the 279 degree off utica VOR. Unfortunately, we were supposed to be navigating the 279 degree radial off syr VOR. Although the vors were almost aligned with each other it was a mistake I made. I believe I was tired and was just not paying attention to detail. In the future, I will try not to let being tired affect doing a thorough job.

Title: AN ACR LTT TUNED IN THE WRONG VOR AND ENDED UP OFF AIRWAYS. THE ATC CTLR PUT THE LTT BACK ON THE RIGHT COURSE.

Narrative: I AM A NEW CAPT, 50 HRS OF IOE. WE WERE FINISHING A LONG DAY, STARTED AT XY30. CTLR ASKED HOW I WAS NAVIGATING. I STATED V-2, THE 279 DEG OFF UTICA VOR. UNFORTUNATELY, WE WERE SUPPOSED TO BE NAVIGATING THE 279 DEG RADIAL OFF SYR VOR. ALTHOUGH THE VORS WERE ALMOST ALIGNED WITH EACH OTHER IT WAS A MISTAKE I MADE.
