Narrative:
Copied ATC clearance from pre departure clearance message on ACARS screen in writing it down I, believing it was the abbreviation for the falmouth 4 arrival, omitted the note 'FLM123.' crossing the cheda intersection on the arrival, we were informed that the arrival had been cancelled and we should have turned to intercept the FLM123 degree radial. Center then issued a heading quickly followed by a turn back direct flm. A NOTAM should be issued with an arrival route that is published is cancelled. Fdc NOTAMS are issued for siaps why not for stars.

Narrative: COPIED ATC CLRNC FROM PDC MESSAGE ON ACARS SCREEN IN WRITING IT DOWN I, BELIEVING IT WAS THE ABBREVIATION FOR THE FALMOUTH 4 ARR, OMITTED THE NOTE 'FLM123.' XING THE CHEDA INTXN ON THE ARR, WE WERE INFORMED THAT THE ARR HAD BEEN CANCELLED AND WE SHOULD HAVE TURNED TO INTERCEPT THE FLM123 DEG RADIAL. CTR THEN ISSUED A HDG QUICKLY FOLLOWED BY A TURN BACK DIRECT FLM. A NOTAM SHOULD BE ISSUED WITH AN ARR RTE THAT IS PUBLISHED IS CANCELLED. FDC NOTAMS ARE ISSUED FOR SIAPS WHY NOT FOR STARS.
