Narrative:

Just prior to pushback in gdl, the boarding agent informed me that the boarding stairway was jammed at the bottom of the forward passenger boarding door. (When the aircraft was fully boarded, it settled down into the stairway). I directed them to lower the stairs and pull it away. After inspecting the door, I observed the flexible rubber door seal slightly bent but it didn't appear abnormal. The passenger door closed with the usual effort and ease. A mexican national on the outside (pushback) headset told me it looked ok from the outside, when the door was closed. We started engines and flew a normal uneventful flight to lax. Upon our arrival at the gate in lax, maintenance was standing by to repair the door. Apparently gdl station informed lax station that maintenance was necessary. This was not communicated to me by anyone. If there was any concern by the station personnel, they never said a word as I said earlier, the aircraft pressurized normally and there were no squeals during the flight.

Narrative: JUST PRIOR TO PUSHBACK IN GDL, THE BOARDING AGENT INFORMED ME THAT THE BOARDING STAIRWAY WAS JAMMED AT THE BOTTOM OF THE FORWARD PAX BOARDING DOOR. (WHEN THE ACFT WAS FULLY BOARDED, IT SETTLED DOWN INTO THE STAIRWAY). I DIRECTED THEM TO LOWER THE STAIRS AND PULL IT AWAY. AFTER INSPECTING THE DOOR, I OBSERVED THE FLEXIBLE RUBBER DOOR SEAL SLIGHTLY BENT BUT IT DIDN'T APPEAR ABNORMAL. THE PAX DOOR CLOSED WITH THE USUAL EFFORT AND EASE. A MEXICAN NATIONAL ON THE OUTSIDE (PUSHBACK) HEADSET TOLD ME IT LOOKED OK FROM THE OUTSIDE, WHEN THE DOOR WAS CLOSED. WE STARTED ENGS AND FLEW A NORMAL UNEVENTFUL FLT TO LAX. UPON OUR ARR AT THE GATE IN LAX, MAINT WAS STANDING BY TO REPAIR THE DOOR. APPARENTLY GDL STATION INFORMED LAX STATION THAT MAINT WAS NECESSARY. THIS WAS NOT COMMUNICATED TO ME BY ANYONE. IF THERE WAS ANY CONCERN BY THE STATION PERSONNEL, THEY NEVER SAID A WORD AS I SAID EARLIER, THE ACFT PRESSURIZED NORMALLY AND THERE WERE NO SQUEALS DURING THE FLT.
