Narrative:
Air carrier X was level at FL190 en route from iad to ewr. I gave next sector control to turn him direct ood VORTAC. Meanwhile air carrier Y departed bwi requested FL330. I climbed him to FL190 on a 155 degree heading to miss (go behind) air carrier X and also to fall in trail of another aircraft climbing nebound. I diverted Y attention to 2 other aircraft (a control situation) and noticed conflict alert activation. Immediately descended to FL180 and ended up with 0 ft and 3.1 mi horizontal.
