Narrative:
Small aircraft X was cleared to land runway 22L and feel positive that I heard correctly. Tower cleared an small aircraft Y to takeoff as we were on short final. Before I said anything the pilot in small aircraft Y reported our aircraft on his runway. Tower replied that we were on the wrong runway and told small aircraft Y to hold short and proceeded to tell us we were on the wrong runway, we were cleared for runway 22R. I said that I heard runway 22L. No other comments made there after between tower controller and myself. I will repeat runways twice and if an unusual clearance is given, confirm clearance. Immediately upon hearing the other aircraft was 'cleared for takeoff' I should have got on the microphone to warn the tower and small aircraft Y pilot.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: MULTIPLE RWY OP PARALLEL RWYS SMA X LANDED WRONG RWY. PLTDEV.
Narrative: SMA X WAS CLRED TO LAND RWY 22L AND FEEL POSITIVE THAT I HEARD CORRECTLY. TWR CLRED AN SMA Y TO TKOF AS WE WERE ON SHORT FINAL. BEFORE I SAID ANYTHING THE PLT IN SMA Y RPTED OUR ACFT ON HIS RWY. TWR REPLIED THAT WE WERE ON THE WRONG RWY AND TOLD SMA Y TO HOLD SHORT AND PROCEEDED TO TELL US WE WERE ON THE WRONG RWY, WE WERE CLRED FOR RWY 22R. I SAID THAT I HEARD RWY 22L. NO OTHER COMMENTS MADE THERE AFTER BTWN TWR CTLR AND MYSELF. I WILL REPEAT RWYS TWICE AND IF AN UNUSUAL CLRNC IS GIVEN, CONFIRM CLRNC. IMMEDIATELY UPON HEARING THE OTHER ACFT WAS 'CLRED FOR TKOF' I SHOULD HAVE GOT ON THE MIKE TO WARN THE TWR AND SMA Y PLT.
