Narrative:

On takeoff at approximately 100 KTS the amber leading edge flap transit light illuminated. I was flying and was looking outside at the time. The captain made a comment about it. I glanced down and at that time the captain said 'we're aborting, I got it'. The rejected takeoff (reject takeoff) automatically applied brakes and brought the aircraft to a stop with plenty of room left. We returned to the gate and consulted the brake cooling chart on the taxi in. We were required to wait 1:04 due to ambient temperature, weight, and speed. After rejection on the taxi in, I checked the overhead panel and all leading edge devices were in the proper position. However, the forward in transit light remained illuminated until we retracted flaps at the gate with maintenance observing. After that, the light indicated correctly. After the hour plus delay, maintenance found brake filings and changed brakes.

Title: ACR HAS LE FLAP TRANSIT LIGHT ILLUMINATE ON TKOF ROLL. ABORT.

Narrative: ON TKOF AT APPROX 100 KTS THE AMBER LEADING EDGE FLAP TRANSIT LIGHT ILLUMINATED. I WAS FLYING AND WAS LOOKING OUTSIDE AT THE TIME. THE CAPT MADE A COMMENT ABOUT IT. I GLANCED DOWN AND AT THAT TIME THE CAPT SAID 'WE'RE ABORTING, I GOT IT'. THE RTO (REJECT TKOF) AUTOMATICALLY APPLIED BRAKES AND BROUGHT THE ACFT TO A STOP WITH PLENTY OF ROOM LEFT. WE RETURNED TO THE GATE AND CONSULTED THE BRAKE COOLING CHART ON THE TAXI IN. WE WERE REQUIRED TO WAIT 1:04 DUE TO AMBIENT TEMP, WT, AND SPD. AFTER REJECTION ON THE TAXI IN, I CHKED THE OVERHEAD PANEL AND ALL LEADING EDGE DEVICES WERE IN THE PROPER POS. HOWEVER, THE FORWARD IN TRANSIT LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED UNTIL WE RETRACTED FLAPS AT THE GATE WITH MAINT OBSERVING. AFTER THAT, THE LIGHT INDICATED CORRECTLY. AFTER THE HR PLUS DELAY, MAINT FOUND BRAKE FILINGS AND CHANGED BRAKES.
