Narrative:

During passenger deplaning at dfw the flight attendant in charge 'faic' request that I stay aboard to talk with her after the passenger had left the aircraft. She explained that there had been 137 passenger, not 136 as our release showed (final weight and balance also showed 136). We were full in first class with 12 and supposed to be full in coach with 136. She explained that as we were descending into the dfw area she went into the coach section and noticed a female passenger seated in the seat designated 'flight attendant load factor only'. The 'faic's' investigation revealed that during the boarding phase in sat the female passenger, mentioned above, left her assigned seat to go the restroom. When she returned to take her original seat she found it occupied and simply got in the 'load factor seat'. Fcia stated that her own passenger count in flight en route to dfw indicated 137 in coach. The 'load factor seat' is with the passenger seats, and is not a flight attendant jump seat, and is identical to a normal passenger seat except for the 'load factor' designation.

Title: AFTER LNDG CAB RPTED TO PIC THAT THEY HAD 1 MORE PAX ON BOARD THAN SHOWN ON THE MANIFEST.

Narrative: DURING PAX DEPLANING AT DFW THE FLT ATTENDANT IN CHARGE 'FAIC' REQUEST THAT I STAY ABOARD TO TALK WITH HER AFTER THE PAX HAD LEFT THE ACFT. SHE EXPLAINED THAT THERE HAD BEEN 137 PAX, NOT 136 AS OUR RELEASE SHOWED (FINAL WT AND BAL ALSO SHOWED 136). WE WERE FULL IN FIRST CLASS WITH 12 AND SUPPOSED TO BE FULL IN COACH WITH 136. SHE EXPLAINED THAT AS WE WERE DSNDING INTO THE DFW AREA SHE WENT INTO THE COACH SECTION AND NOTICED A FEMALE PAX SEATED IN THE SEAT DESIGNATED 'FLT ATTENDANT LOAD FACTOR ONLY'. THE 'FAIC'S' INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT DURING THE BOARDING PHASE IN SAT THE FEMALE PAX, MENTIONED ABOVE, LEFT HER ASSIGNED SEAT TO GO THE RESTROOM. WHEN SHE RETURNED TO TAKE HER ORIGINAL SEAT SHE FOUND IT OCCUPIED AND SIMPLY GOT IN THE 'LOAD FACTOR SEAT'. FCIA STATED THAT HER OWN PAX COUNT IN FLT ENRTE TO DFW INDICATED 137 IN COACH. THE 'LOAD FACTOR SEAT' IS WITH THE PAX SEATS, AND IS NOT A FLT ATTENDANT JUMP SEAT, AND IS IDENTICAL TO A NORMAL PAX SEAT EXCEPT FOR THE 'LOAD FACTOR' DESIGNATION.
