Narrative:

I was flying, cleared to 17000 and stopped climb at 16000 to wait for cabin altitude to climb so we didn't loose cabin pressure. However, we didn't advise ATC, after cabin altitude stabilized forgot to continue climb, and didn't realize 1000 ft low for about 20 mins. We were never questioned by ATC, began climb to 17000 ft without incident. Corrective action -- we should have been more attentive to our duties. Captain very sleepy.
