Narrative:
Observed TA which turned in RA. Descended aircraft 250 ft as per TCASII command and alerted ATC. Observed traffic in descent and it was a light twin operating VFR in the chicago TCA. TCASII in this situation did help avert a midair. My only complaint is the aural TCASII warnings are too loud.

Title: COMMUTER MDT ALT DEV EXCURSION FROM CLRNC ALT IN RESPONSE TO TCASII RA.
Narrative: OBSERVED TA WHICH TURNED IN RA. DSNDED ACFT 250 FT AS PER TCASII COMMAND AND ALERTED ATC. OBSERVED TFC IN DSCNT AND IT WAS A LIGHT TWIN OPERATING VFR IN THE CHICAGO TCA. TCASII IN THIS SITUATION DID HELP AVERT A MIDAIR. MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS THE AURAL TCASII WARNINGS ARE TOO LOUD.
