Narrative:

Flight was being vectored for an ILS 21R approach dtw. We were at 8000 ft heading 150 degree. We were given a left turn to 120 degree and descend to 6000 ft. While in the turn and descending we were given VFR traffic estimated at 6300 ft wbound with no radio contact. Soon after that we got a TCASII TA followed by a RA. We stopped our descent at approximately 7200 ft and started a turn back to the right. The traffic passed below us approximately 500-600 ft with no visual contact. TCASII worked as advertised. I was asked to call dtw approach on the ground at dtw. I reported the above narrative to them.
