Narrative:

I departed honolulu on the XA50 pm flight to molokai as PIC in company small transport. Proceeding southeast on the shoreline 3 VFR departure, approximately 4 mi from the airport climbing through 1500 ft MSL, a loud bang noise was heard. This was followed immediately by a strong right yawing motion and a subsequent loss of power of the right engine. I acted promptly to maintain total control of the aircraft and followed the emergency engine out procedure for the failed right engine. After feathering and securing the right engine per checklist, I declared an emergency with departure control and returned to the airport. I was cleared to land on runway 26L by the tower. After landing, I taxied the aircraft to parking on the south ramp with emergency equipment backup and deplaned the passenger without incident. I notified the director of operations and was instructed to leave the aircraft at our parking area for maintenance inspection and repairs.
