Narrative:

We were holding over the OM for a small thunderstorm to move through. We asked for a contact approach, and so cleared on short final tower reported visibility RVV 7/8 mi. We determined visibility to be greater than 7/8 and completed our landing. I feel when aircraft are 100 ft to touchdown do not need information of this nature and have to make another decision of whether or not this will be a legal landing.
