Narrative:

In 8/91, I experienced a possible hazard with another aircraft. On upwind for 17R at centennial airport following another aircraft for touch and goes. The spacing between us was short. I slowed my plane as much as I could and went to the right of the aircraft ahead. I radioed for a crosswind turn to avoid getting too close. The tower didn't respond. The aircraft in front reached it's crosswind leg altitude and began the turn for a right hand pattern. I had to turn with the aircraft to keep separation. If I continued upwind, the separation would be too close for comfort to the other aircraft. I feel the pattern was too congested and spacing was limited.

Narrative: IN 8/91, I EXPERIENCED A POSSIBLE HAZARD WITH ANOTHER ACFT. ON UPWIND FOR 17R AT CENTENNIAL ARPT FOLLOWING ANOTHER ACFT FOR TOUCH AND GOES. THE SPACING BTWN US WAS SHORT. I SLOWED MY PLANE AS MUCH AS I COULD AND WENT TO THE R OF THE ACFT AHEAD. I RADIOED FOR A XWIND TURN TO AVOID GETTING TOO CLOSE. THE TWR DIDN'T RESPOND. THE ACFT IN FRONT REACHED IT'S XWIND LEG ALT AND BEGAN THE TURN FOR A R HAND PATTERN. I HAD TO TURN WITH THE ACFT TO KEEP SEPARATION. IF I CONTINUED UPWIND, THE SEPARATION WOULD BE TOO CLOSE FOR COMFORT TO THE OTHER ACFT. I FEEL THE PATTERN WAS TOO CONGESTED AND SPACING WAS LIMITED.
