Narrative:
On takeoff san with a 2000 ft assigned altitude. At approximately 1700 ft TCAS sounded 'traffic, traffic'. Both other crew members said at same time, 'he's at 12 O'clock our altitude'. I looked away from instruments to TCAS and went through 2000 as so says, 'we have 2000 ft'. I pushed over and we leveled at 2000 ft after overshooting 150-180 ft. The traffic was actually going to be clear and no problem. My advice is to not be distracted by new equipment in cockpit. I was! Just fly the airplane.
