Narrative:

We were flying an medium large transport, traffic conflict was probably an small aircraft. First officer was flying. We departed 7R from mke. After initial heading of 180 degree, we were given a 250 degree heading and climb to 11000 ft. Departure (119.65) said 'traffic alert' at 7200 ft 10-11 O'clock 2 mi unverified suggest you level off.' we leveled off at 6900 ft and made sharp descending turn to recommended heading of 210 degree and saw other aircraft. Stopped descent at 6500 ft and watched other aircraft white with brown sides and gold stripe fly over. No actions observed by other aircraft.

Narrative: WE WERE FLYING AN MLG, TFC CONFLICT WAS PROBABLY AN SMA. FO WAS FLYING. WE DEPARTED 7R FROM MKE. AFTER INITIAL HDG OF 180 DEG, WE WERE GIVEN A 250 DEG HDG AND CLB TO 11000 FT.
