Narrative:

I was the pilot of small aircraft X preparing to depart tulsa on an IFR flight plan to des moines. The plane was located at FBO and after copying my IFR flight clearance and ATIS I called tulsa ground control (same as tower frequency) announcing that I had clearance and ATIS and was ready to taxi. My initial call was not answered and after a short time I requested taxi clearance again and was told 'roger'. I heard nothing for several mins longer and opened he small window because of the heat which markedly increased cockpit engine noise. I then heard what I believed to be instructions for my small aircraft to taxi and hold short of runway 35L. I repeated the instructions to taxi and hold short of runway 35 and my transmission was not acknowledged so I taxied to the runup area of runway 35L. As soon as I arrived at the runup area of runway 35L, I heard what I believed was cleared for takeoff and that there was another airplane turning final so I repeated cleared for takeoff with identification once again heard nothing from the tower. I proceeded to takeoff as I believed I had been instructed. At rotation I heard instructions to turn left to 290 and contact departure given to another small aircraft Y. I continued my climb and was asked by departure 'what is your position.' I old them my altitude and heading. Soon thereafter I was notified by departure that there was a message for me to call the tower and that I had possibly been involved in a 'pilot deviation.' next day I called and was given to someone at the tulsa tower. I was then told that it was believed that I had taxied and taken off with clearance given to another small aircraft. Until that time I was completely unaware that there was any problem with my departure. I feel that I did as I had been instructed to do. Both I and an adult passenger (also wearing headphones) heard what was believed to be cleared to taxi and then cleared for takeoff with call signs for my aircraft on both occasions, prior to taxiing from the FBO and prior to takeoff I repeated the instructions as I always do and was not told on either occasion that I was incorrect in receiving a clearance and I was not told to stop taxiing or cancel takeoff. On every prior occasion I have flown, if I misunderstood instructions and repeated another airplanes instructions I have been quickly and appropriately corrected by ATC.

Title: GA SMA UNAUTH TAXI RWY ENTRY TKOF AT TUL.

Narrative: I WAS THE PLT OF SMA X PREPARING TO DEPART TULSA ON AN IFR FLT PLAN TO DES MOINES. THE PLANE WAS LOCATED AT FBO AND AFTER COPYING MY IFR FLT CLRNC AND ATIS I CALLED TULSA GND CTL (SAME AS TWR FREQ) ANNOUNCING THAT I HAD CLRNC AND ATIS AND WAS READY TO TAXI. MY INITIAL CALL WAS NOT ANSWERED AND AFTER A SHORT TIME I REQUESTED TAXI CLRNC AGAIN AND WAS TOLD 'ROGER'. I HEARD NOTHING FOR SEVERAL MINS LONGER AND OPENED HE SMALL WINDOW BECAUSE OF THE HEAT WHICH MARKEDLY INCREASED COCKPIT ENG NOISE. I THEN HEARD WHAT I BELIEVED TO BE INSTRUCTIONS FOR MY SMA TO TAXI AND HOLD SHORT OF RWY 35L. I REPEATED THE INSTRUCTIONS TO TAXI AND HOLD SHORT OF RWY 35 AND MY XMISSION WAS NOT ACKNOWLEDGED SO I TAXIED TO THE RUNUP AREA OF RWY 35L. AS SOON AS I ARRIVED AT THE RUNUP AREA OF RWY 35L, I HEARD WHAT I BELIEVED WAS CLRED FOR TKOF AND THAT THERE WAS ANOTHER AIRPLANE TURNING FINAL SO I REPEATED CLRED FOR TKOF WITH ID ONCE AGAIN HEARD NOTHING FROM THE TWR. I PROCEEDED TO TKOF AS I BELIEVED I HAD BEEN INSTRUCTED. AT ROTATION I HEARD INSTRUCTIONS TO TURN L TO 290 AND CONTACT DEP GIVEN TO ANOTHER SMA Y. I CONTINUED MY CLB AND WAS ASKED BY DEP 'WHAT IS YOUR POS.' I OLD THEM MY ALT AND HDG. SOON THEREAFTER I WAS NOTIFIED BY DEP THAT THERE WAS A MESSAGE FOR ME TO CALL THE TWR AND THAT I HAD POSSIBLY BEEN INVOLVED IN A 'PLT DEV.' NEXT DAY I CALLED AND WAS GIVEN TO SOMEONE AT THE TULSA TWR. I WAS THEN TOLD THAT IT WAS BELIEVED THAT I HAD TAXIED AND TAKEN OFF WITH CLRNC GIVEN TO ANOTHER SMA. UNTIL THAT TIME I WAS COMPLETELY UNAWARE THAT THERE WAS ANY PROB WITH MY DEP. I FEEL THAT I DID AS I HAD BEEN INSTRUCTED TO DO. BOTH I AND AN ADULT PAX (ALSO WEARING HEADPHONES) HEARD WHAT WAS BELIEVED TO BE CLRED TO TAXI AND THEN CLRED FOR TKOF WITH CALL SIGNS FOR MY ACFT ON BOTH OCCASIONS, PRIOR TO TAXIING FROM THE FBO AND PRIOR TO TKOF I REPEATED THE INSTRUCTIONS AS I ALWAYS DO AND WAS NOT TOLD ON EITHER OCCASION THAT I WAS INCORRECT IN RECEIVING A CLRNC AND I WAS NOT TOLD TO STOP TAXIING OR CANCEL TKOF. ON EVERY PRIOR OCCASION I HAVE FLOWN, IF I MISUNDERSTOOD INSTRUCTIONS AND REPEATED ANOTHER AIRPLANES INSTRUCTIONS I HAVE BEEN QUICKLY AND APPROPRIATELY CORRECTED BY ATC.
