Narrative:

Our original clearance on descent was direct to exmor intersection (west of sam), direct sam, then willo 1C arrival. We were given several vectors before ever reaching sam, and then told to hold at sam west/O being given an efc time. When I queried the controller about an efc, he said simply that he'd get back to us. We did an entry turn at sam and then were again put on vectors out of the holding pattern. The questionable clearance came when we were given a heading to intercept the may 265 degree right to willow and hold (again at first no efc given). Each time before this when we were vectored off the arrival and then put back on, the clearance specifically included, 'resume willo 1 charlie.' we intercepted the 265 degree right and turned toward willo. When the aircraft went through the midhurst 122 degree right, london questioned what we were doing. They said we were supposed to intercept the mid 122 degree right and resume the willo 1C. We disagreed, saying the clearance was to intercept the mayfield 265 degree right (which willo is on) to willo and hold. From this point we were put on vectors and switched to gatwick approach. We did 1 turn in holding at willo and then were vectored to an ILS to runway 26 west/O incident.

Title: ACR WDB FAILED TO ENTER AHD AT LGW AS SHOWN ON STAR ARR PLATE.

Narrative: OUR ORIGINAL CLRNC ON DSNT WAS DIRECT TO EXMOR INTXN (WEST OF SAM), DIRECT SAM, THEN WILLO 1C ARR. WE WERE GIVEN SEVERAL VECTORS BEFORE EVER REACHING SAM, AND THEN TOLD TO HOLD AT SAM W/O BEING GIVEN AN EFC TIME. WHEN I QUERIED THE CTLR ABOUT AN EFC, HE SAID SIMPLY THAT HE'D GET BACK TO US. WE DID AN ENTRY TURN AT SAM AND THEN WERE AGAIN PUT ON VECTORS OUT OF THE HOLDING PATTERN. THE QUESTIONABLE CLRNC CAME WHEN WE WERE GIVEN A HDG TO INTERCEPT THE MAY 265 DEG R TO WILLOW AND HOLD (AGAIN AT FIRST NO EFC GIVEN). EACH TIME BEFORE THIS WHEN WE WERE VECTORED OFF THE ARR AND THEN PUT BACK ON, THE CLRNC SPECIFICALLY INCLUDED, 'RESUME WILLO 1 CHARLIE.' WE INTERCEPTED THE 265 DEG R AND TURNED TOWARD WILLO. WHEN THE ACFT WENT THROUGH THE MIDHURST 122 DEG R, LONDON QUESTIONED WHAT WE WERE DOING. THEY SAID WE WERE SUPPOSED TO INTERCEPT THE MID 122 DEG R AND RESUME THE WILLO 1C. WE DISAGREED, SAYING THE CLRNC WAS TO INTERCEPT THE MAYFIELD 265 DEG R (WHICH WILLO IS ON) TO WILLO AND HOLD. FROM THIS POINT WE WERE PUT ON VECTORS AND SWITCHED TO GATWICK APCH. WE DID 1 TURN IN HOLDING AT WILLO AND THEN WERE VECTORED TO AN ILS TO RWY 26 W/O INCIDENT.
