Narrative:

FSS SIGMET alpha 8 for blowing sand, extreme turbulence and wind shear for the area. Trying to control the aircraft while enduring these flight conditions I got south of course 076 degrees on V12 to needles VOR and nearly entered or entered north border of R2501N. ZLA (flight following) stated I was entering or about to enter R2501N. Enduring severe turbulence at this time, my primary concern was to maintain control and turn left for a north heading. Shortly I was north of highway 40, which is north of R2501N. ZLA stated I was clear of R2501N estimate 5 mins later. We continued on course V12-442 to needles VOR. I am concerned about ZLA stating at a much later time we were clear of R2501N while actually it was only several mins. I have been by hector VOR on V12 many times and always before favored the north of hector VOR to clear R2501N. This time I let the flight conditions take more concern than navigation.
