Narrative:

Contacted evv approach and was told to land on 22. A couple of mins later I was contacted and advised to land on 18 and hold short of 22. I then acknowledged these instructions. When turning on final approach, I cut power to slow down and an instrument in the aircraft with me then pushed the throttle in and told me I needed to learn to speed up around large airports. I then pulled the throttle out to reduce speed again, and he immediately pushed throttle back in. This instrument has several thousand hours time and I assumed he ha a reason for what he was doing. I was going too fast when approaching the runway and I had trouble getting the aircraft slowed down and on the runway. I was over half way down the runway when I realized I could not get stopped by the 22 intersection. I was too busy trying to land the aircraft to call the tower. As I looked to my left I saw a commuter Y taking off on 22. It was already airborne when I first saw it. As the commuter aircraft Y was already airborne, I thought it better to go on through the intersection that to stop in the middle of it. After this experience with this instrument, I will never allow him in my aircraft with me again. I have 260 hours total time. I realized I was PIC, but thought I could pick up some tips from such an experienced instrument.

Title: GA SMA FAILS TO HOLD SHORT OF INTERSECTING RWY WHEN LNDG AT EVV.

Narrative: CONTACTED EVV APCH AND WAS TOLD TO LAND ON 22. A COUPLE OF MINS LATER I WAS CONTACTED AND ADVISED TO LAND ON 18 AND HOLD SHORT OF 22. I THEN ACKNOWLEDGED THESE INSTRUCTIONS. WHEN TURNING ON FINAL APCH, I CUT PWR TO SLOW DOWN AND AN INSTR IN THE ACFT WITH ME THEN PUSHED THE THROTTLE IN AND TOLD ME I NEEDED TO LEARN TO SPD UP AROUND LARGE ARPTS. I THEN PULLED THE THROTTLE OUT TO REDUCE SPD AGAIN, AND HE IMMEDIATELY PUSHED THROTTLE BACK IN. THIS INSTR HAS SEVERAL THOUSAND HRS TIME AND I ASSUMED HE HA A REASON FOR WHAT HE WAS DOING. I WAS GOING TOO FAST WHEN APCHING THE RWY AND I HAD TROUBLE GETTING THE ACFT SLOWED DOWN AND ON THE RWY. I WAS OVER HALF WAY DOWN THE RWY WHEN I REALIZED I COULD NOT GET STOPPED BY THE 22 INTXN. I WAS TOO BUSY TRYING TO LAND THE ACFT TO CALL THE TWR. AS I LOOKED TO MY LEFT I SAW A COMMUTER Y TAKING OFF ON 22. IT WAS ALREADY AIRBORNE WHEN I FIRST SAW IT. AS THE COMMUTER ACFT Y WAS ALREADY AIRBORNE, I THOUGHT IT BETTER TO GO ON THROUGH THE INTXN THAT TO STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF IT. AFTER THIS EXPERIENCE WITH THIS INSTR, I WILL NEVER ALLOW HIM IN MY ACFT WITH ME AGAIN. I HAVE 260 HRS TOTAL TIME. I REALIZED I WAS PIC, BUT THOUGHT I COULD PICK UP SOME TIPS FROM SUCH AN EXPERIENCED INSTR.
