Narrative:

After clearing security in dca and flying to orf, my first officer and I walked into operations (for the first time since mid-january) to get paperwork for next leg. As we came out, we both almost threw up. There, parked on the ramp within yards of several aircraft and with no escort whatsoever, was the snap-on tools truck. We (the crew) have to go through security to operate the aircraft, but the man with the tolls can drive right on the ramp. There is no way that one of those trucks went through any sort of a thorough search. When can we stop playing games with security at the nation's airports?
