Narrative:

Note: this situation has been classified as an incident by the NTSB. Called fxe tower 8 mi west for landing. Advised straight in to runway 8. At 5 mi out another aircraft called in for ILS to runway 8. Tower asked for my airspeed. Responded 120 indicated. Other aircraft on approach behind me requested to terminate approach with touch and go's. I continued high speed approach. At 2-1 1/2 mi out, slowed to drop 10 degree flaps, but immediately retracted flaps to continue high speed approach. At this point, completed first landing checklist. Had pilot set forward with knew over gear indicator light. Do not remember moving my knee to observe green locked (gear) light. At 1/2 mi slowed aircraft for landing. While crossing airport boundary, complete second landing checklist, and noticed no green gear locked light. Attempted to check bulb. Quick look outside, but could not see gear. Past runway #south in flare decided to go around. Started to apply power. Felt bump. No noise yet, then loud noise as aircraft settled on runway centerline and skidded to stop about 600' down runway and stopped with nose 3' past right runway light. Shut down all electrical. Fuel off. Evacked aircraft.
