Narrative:

Having been below takeoff minimums at 1400 RVR, visibility had come up to 1600 momentarily, and we'd been cleared for takeoff. As roll was started (no more than 30-40 KTS estimated) tower called us and started to cancel our takeoff clearance (pause) unless we'd begun our roll. We had, stated so, and continued. About 2 long seconds later, tower commanded, 'abort your takeoff!' we did at about 60 KTS, and as we cleared onto taxiway A2, tower stated he would advise reasoning/cause in a min. After clearing us back to approach end of runway 4 again, tower advised that a small plane (I think he said a cessna) had called on ground frequency (having been cleared to runway 4 via 'alpha' taxiway) to say he was lost in the fog and didn't know where on the airport he was. All this occurred just as we were starting our takeoff roll. With the cessna's start point somewhere near the departure end of runway 4 and visions of 'detroit and brand X' dancing in their heads, the tower surmised it was best to make sure we stopped instead of continuing. We agreed, especially since we weren't going very fast. All in all, it was a good call. P.south. We never heard if the cessna really had gotten onto the runway.

Title: AN SMA GOT LOST IN THE FOG AT LEX ARPT.

Narrative: HAVING BEEN BELOW TKOF MINIMUMS AT 1400 RVR, VISIBILITY HAD COME UP TO 1600 MOMENTARILY, AND WE'D BEEN CLRED FOR TKOF. AS ROLL WAS STARTED (NO MORE THAN 30-40 KTS ESTIMATED) TWR CALLED US AND STARTED TO CANCEL OUR TKOF CLRNC (PAUSE) UNLESS WE'D BEGUN OUR ROLL. WE HAD, STATED SO, AND CONTINUED. ABOUT 2 LONG SECONDS LATER, TWR COMMANDED, 'ABORT YOUR TKOF!' WE DID AT ABOUT 60 KTS, AND AS WE CLRED ONTO TXWY A2, TWR STATED HE WOULD ADVISE REASONING/CAUSE IN A MIN. AFTER CLRING US BACK TO APCH END OF RWY 4 AGAIN, TWR ADVISED THAT A SMALL PLANE (I THINK HE SAID A CESSNA) HAD CALLED ON GND FREQ (HAVING BEEN CLRED TO RWY 4 VIA 'ALPHA' TXWY) TO SAY HE WAS LOST IN THE FOG AND DIDN'T KNOW WHERE ON THE ARPT HE WAS. ALL THIS OCCURRED JUST AS WE WERE STARTING OUR TKOF ROLL. WITH THE CESSNA'S START POINT SOMEWHERE NEAR THE DEP END OF RWY 4 AND VISIONS OF 'DETROIT AND BRAND X' DANCING IN THEIR HEADS, THE TWR SURMISED IT WAS BEST TO MAKE SURE WE STOPPED INSTEAD OF CONTINUING. WE AGREED, ESPECIALLY SINCE WE WEREN'T GOING VERY FAST. ALL IN ALL, IT WAS A GOOD CALL. P.S. WE NEVER HEARD IF THE CESSNA REALLY HAD GOTTEN ONTO THE RWY.
