Narrative:

TCAS gave us an RA command to climb. Climb command was 500-1000 FPM. We were level at assigned 11000' MSL. Departing aircraft was climbing to 10000'. We had a visibility on the other aircraft, but followed the TCAS command to 11400'. RA ceased. We returned to 11000'. Advised approach of the occurrence. No safety of flight condition existed.

Title: ACR LGT ALT DEVIATION EXCURSION FROM CLRNC ALT IN RESPONSE TO TCAS II RA.

Narrative: TCAS GAVE US AN RA COMMAND TO CLB. CLB COMMAND WAS 500-1000 FPM. WE WERE LEVEL AT ASSIGNED 11000' MSL. DEPARTING ACFT WAS CLBING TO 10000'. WE HAD A VIS ON THE OTHER ACFT, BUT FOLLOWED THE TCAS COMMAND TO 11400'. RA CEASED. WE RETURNED TO 11000'. ADVISED APCH OF THE OCCURRENCE. NO SAFETY OF FLT CONDITION EXISTED.
