Narrative:
Halfway through boarding the flight attendant 1 made a announcement for everyone to deplane aircraft; not to take anything with them. The smoke alarm went off and the flight attendant 2 and myself could smell the fumes. We proceeded to start deplaning; very slow trying to get passengers off. Found out that there was confusion with the agents and they did not know there was a situation on board. Flight attendant 4 had to leave [the] aircraft to tell them there was a situation occurring which finally got the deplaning underway.
