Narrative:

While departing lax on flight (lax-las) on a loop 8 SID, we were delayed somewhat in switching to departure, due to an abnormal pneumatics problem. We delayed our turn to 235 degrees at the shoreline and called our intention to the controller when checked on frequency. His concern was our proximity to parallel traffic off the north runways 24L (we were off 25R). We were TCAS equipped and noted the alerted traffic on our equipment. Visibility contact was maintained until a vector heading was assigned by departure control. I initiated a call to the supervisor on duty on the ground in las, and he seemed receptive to the information I related, but did take my address, phone and certificate #. His concern, of course was our delay in initiating sep from parallel traffic.

WE WERE TCAS EQUIPPED AND NOTED THE ALERTED TFC ON OUR EQUIP. VIS CONTACT WAS MAINTAINED UNTIL A VECTOR HDG WAS ASSIGNED BY DEP CTL. I INITIATED A CALL TO THE SUPVR ON DUTY ON THE GND IN LAS, AND HE SEEMED RECEPTIVE TO THE INFO I RELATED, BUT DID TAKE MY ADDRESS, PHONE AND CERTIFICATE #. HIS CONCERN, OF COURSE WAS OUR DELAY IN INITIATING SEP FROM PARALLEL TFC.
