Narrative:

While on short final, was instructed to make a full stop landing. Thinking it was for spacing purposes, I stopped on the runway waiting for release to takeoff. The controller came on and advised me to taxi off, that a full stop landing meant to taxi off the active runway. The reason to taxi off was that there was an aircraft behind me with a radio failure and tower had no way of telling aircraft to go around (I guess they never heard of a light gun). Maybe it was my mistake for assuming something and should have literally taxied off when advised. My advice is that when advised to do a full stop landing, tell the pilot to do a full stop and taxi off. Maybe that will clear up any confusion. By the way, I was doing touch and go's with several aircraft in the pattern.

Title: SMA DOING TOUCH AND GO'S INSTRUCTED TO DO A FULL STOP LNDG. LANDS AND REMAINS ON RWY.

Narrative: WHILE ON SHORT FINAL, WAS INSTRUCTED TO MAKE A FULL STOP LNDG. THINKING IT WAS FOR SPACING PURPOSES, I STOPPED ON THE RWY WAITING FOR RELEASE TO TKOF. THE CTLR CAME ON AND ADVISED ME TO TAXI OFF, THAT A FULL STOP LNDG MEANT TO TAXI OFF THE ACTIVE RWY. THE REASON TO TAXI OFF WAS THAT THERE WAS AN ACFT BEHIND ME WITH A RADIO FAILURE AND TWR HAD NO WAY OF TELLING ACFT TO GO AROUND (I GUESS THEY NEVER HEARD OF A LIGHT GUN). MAYBE IT WAS MY MISTAKE FOR ASSUMING SOMETHING AND SHOULD HAVE LITERALLY TAXIED OFF WHEN ADVISED. MY ADVICE IS THAT WHEN ADVISED TO DO A FULL STOP LNDG, TELL THE PLT TO DO A FULL STOP AND TAXI OFF. MAYBE THAT WILL CLEAR UP ANY CONFUSION. BY THE WAY, I WAS DOING TOUCH AND GO'S WITH SEVERAL ACFT IN THE PATTERN.
