Narrative:

On my last landing of an 11+ hour day (XX30 am-XX00 pm), on an 8 island air tour of the hawaiian islands, I was cleared to land runway 4L at hnl. I was in fact told to expect runway 4L by approach, read back the landing clearance (once) and the expected runway (twice), and calmly landed on the wrong runway, 4R. Fortunately there was no traffic conflict. Factors contributing to the accident were: pilot fatigue, poor pilot judgement, being a creature of habit (runway 4R is usual runway), poor cockpit management (should not have let passenger in copilot seat talk to me within the TCA), and lackadaisical attitude brought on by 'island fever.' also a factor was the poor handling received at other airports throughout the day, first at koa (was cleared into position to hold and waited until 2 small transport's were nearly clear of control zone and then reminded ATC I was on the runway--he had forgotten, or fallen asleep), and at lih controller had me report 2 mi out, then stuck me behind another aircraft 7 mi out--had to do 2 low altitude steep bank 360 degree turns to avoid crossing final approach path in mountainous terrain. Also a factor was the 3 private pilots (flying on board as passenger) who were continually badgering me with questions and/or trying to fly the aircraft. In short, it was a long, rough day and I had a mind fart that scared me terribly. I have requested some days off and will practice better cockpit management and will maintain sterile cockpit from now on.

Title: ISLAND TOUR PLT LANDS ON WRONG RWY.

Narrative: ON MY LAST LNDG OF AN 11+ HR DAY (XX30 AM-XX00 PM), ON AN 8 ISLAND AIR TOUR OF THE HAWAIIAN ISLANDS, I WAS CLRED TO LAND RWY 4L AT HNL. I WAS IN FACT TOLD TO EXPECT RWY 4L BY APCH, READ BACK THE LNDG CLRNC (ONCE) AND THE EXPECTED RWY (TWICE), AND CALMLY LANDED ON THE WRONG RWY, 4R. FORTUNATELY THERE WAS NO TFC CONFLICT. FACTORS CONTRIBUTING TO THE ACCIDENT WERE: PLT FATIGUE, POOR PLT JUDGEMENT, BEING A CREATURE OF HABIT (RWY 4R IS USUAL RWY), POOR COCKPIT MGMNT (SHOULD NOT HAVE LET PAX IN COPLT SEAT TALK TO ME WITHIN THE TCA), AND LACKADAISICAL ATTITUDE BROUGHT ON BY 'ISLAND FEVER.' ALSO A FACTOR WAS THE POOR HANDLING RECEIVED AT OTHER ARPTS THROUGHOUT THE DAY, FIRST AT KOA (WAS CLRED INTO POS TO HOLD AND WAITED UNTIL 2 SMT'S WERE NEARLY CLR OF CTL ZONE AND THEN REMINDED ATC I WAS ON THE RWY--HE HAD FORGOTTEN, OR FALLEN ASLEEP), AND AT LIH CTLR HAD ME RPT 2 MI OUT, THEN STUCK ME BEHIND ANOTHER ACFT 7 MI OUT--HAD TO DO 2 LOW ALT STEEP BANK 360 DEG TURNS TO AVOID XING FINAL APCH PATH IN MOUNTAINOUS TERRAIN. ALSO A FACTOR WAS THE 3 PVT PLTS (FLYING ON BOARD AS PAX) WHO WERE CONTINUALLY BADGERING ME WITH QUESTIONS AND/OR TRYING TO FLY THE ACFT. IN SHORT, IT WAS A LONG, ROUGH DAY AND I HAD A MIND FART THAT SCARED ME TERRIBLY. I HAVE REQUESTED SOME DAYS OFF AND WILL PRACTICE BETTER COCKPIT MGMNT AND WILL MAINTAIN STERILE COCKPIT FROM NOW ON.
