Narrative:

While taxiing my airplane to a tie-down spot at katama airport, I contacted a green telephone junction box located about 2 ft above ground level. Katama is a grass strip and the box blended into the grass making it difficult to see. There were no markings or cones warning of the obstruction.

Title: PLT OF PA32 OBSERVED A DANGEROUS UNMARKED FIXED OBSTRUCTION IN THE TIE-DOWN AREA OF 1B2, A GRASS STRIP ON MARTHA'S VINEYARD ISLAND.

Narrative: WHILE TAXIING MY AIRPLANE TO A TIE-DOWN SPOT AT KATAMA ARPT, I CONTACTED A GREEN TELEPHONE JUNCTION BOX LOCATED ABOUT 2 FT ABOVE GND LEVEL. KATAMA IS A GRASS STRIP AND THE BOX BLENDED INTO THE GRASS MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO SEE. THERE WERE NO MARKINGS OR CONES WARNING OF THE OBSTRUCTION.
