Narrative:

Taking off below RVR, #1 for takeoff at san, I was so involved in the operational specifications and being asked numerous times by the tower what was needed for takeoff that I overlooked the commercial approach plate for minimum RVR (on runway 27). After leveling off at cruising altitude, I went back to the operational specifications (for what I considered questionable areas) and to the commercial approach plate, I discovered my error. I think we should utilize as much training time on takeoff RVR's as we spend on landing RVR's before it is required.

Title: ACR MLG TKOF IN WX REPORTED BELOW ARPT MINIMUMS FOR TKOF.

Narrative: TAKING OFF BELOW RVR, #1 FOR TKOF AT SAN, I WAS SO INVOLVED IN THE OPERATIONAL SPECS AND BEING ASKED NUMEROUS TIMES BY THE TWR WHAT WAS NEEDED FOR TKOF THAT I OVERLOOKED THE COMMERCIAL APCH PLATE FOR MINIMUM RVR (ON RWY 27). AFTER LEVELING OFF AT CRUISING ALT, I WENT BACK TO THE OPERATIONAL SPECS (FOR WHAT I CONSIDERED QUESTIONABLE AREAS) AND TO THE COMMERCIAL APCH PLATE, I DISCOVERED MY ERROR. I THINK WE SHOULD UTILIZE AS MUCH TRNING TIME ON TKOF RVR'S AS WE SPEND ON LNDG RVR'S BEFORE IT IS REQUIRED.
