Narrative:

Atx X departed alb stopped at 7000' on arwy for crossing traffic at 8000'. Another atx Z departed, stopped at 3000' for 3500' VFR traffic. I informed atx Z VFR traffic no confign and climbed maintain 10000'. The readback was 'atx Z roger, 9.' the '9' was just finished; I didn't hear the slur. The next thing was the C/a ring and atx X had climbed to 9200' climbing to 10000'. He had small transport Y traffic opp at 9000'. I gave traffic alert and atx X had him in sight and was instructed to maintain visibility, but sep was lost. Atx X had climbed from 7000 to 10000' west/O ATC instruction and I didn't catch him prior to the C/a's going off.

Narrative: ATX X DEPARTED ALB STOPPED AT 7000' ON ARWY FOR XING TFC AT 8000'. ANOTHER ATX Z DEPARTED, STOPPED AT 3000' FOR 3500' VFR TFC. I INFORMED ATX Z VFR TFC NO CONFIGN AND CLBED MAINTAIN 10000'. THE READBACK WAS 'ATX Z ROGER, 9.' THE '9' WAS JUST FINISHED; I DIDN'T HEAR THE SLUR. THE NEXT THING WAS THE C/A RING AND ATX X HAD CLBED TO 9200' CLBING TO 10000'. HE HAD SMT Y TFC OPP AT 9000'. I GAVE TFC ALERT AND ATX X HAD HIM IN SIGHT AND WAS INSTRUCTED TO MAINTAIN VIS, BUT SEP WAS LOST. ATX X HAD CLBED FROM 7000 TO 10000' W/O ATC INSTRUCTION AND I DIDN'T CATCH HIM PRIOR TO THE C/A'S GOING OFF.
