Aircraft #1, a swbnd medium large transport on J75 at FL330, was given clearance to FL290. This caused a confliction with aircraft #2, a nwbnd medium large transport on a direct route between lal and cty at FL310. Before automatic conflict alert was triggered, controller noticed error and reclred aircraft #1 to FL330, however, standard sep was lost. A conflicting situation in another part of the controllers sector was a contributing distraction factor.

Title: ACR ACFT WAS ISSUED A CLRNC THROUGH AN OCCUPIED ALT RESULTING IN LESS THAN STANDARD SEPARATION.

Narrative: ACFT #1, A SWBND MLG ON J75 AT FL330, WAS GIVEN CLRNC TO FL290. THIS CAUSED A CONFLICTION WITH ACFT #2, A NWBND MLG ON A DIRECT RTE BTWN LAL AND CTY AT FL310. BEFORE AUTOMATIC CONFLICT ALERT WAS TRIGGERED, CTLR NOTICED ERROR AND RECLRED ACFT #1 TO FL330, HOWEVER, STANDARD SEP WAS LOST. A CONFLICTING SITUATION IN ANOTHER PART OF THE CTLRS SECTOR WAS A CONTRIBUTING DISTR FACTOR.
