Narrative:

Medium large transport was climbing southbound to FL270 (a dtw departure). Large transport was en route direct rod at FL270. I misread the flight strip and thought medium large transport was to remain southbound, but he turned head-on swbnd to large transport. I tried to turn aircraft, but it was too late to save the 5 mi.

Narrative: MLG WAS CLBING SBND TO FL270 (A DTW DEP). LGT WAS ENRTE DIRECT ROD AT FL270. I MISREAD THE FLT STRIP AND THOUGHT MLG WAS TO REMAIN SBND, BUT HE TURNED HEAD-ON SWBND TO LGT. I TRIED TO TURN ACFT, BUT IT WAS TOO LATE TO SAVE THE 5 MI.
