Narrative:

Initial instructions from ground, 'taxi on inner to bravo hold point for runway 4L.' there are no signs for guidance to this area. There is one very small red sign once you are there. Since we failed to see it we taxied onto 'south' and almost xed runway 4L. We held short of runway 4L at the intersection of the outer and 'south'. Ground then instructed us to turn right and continue down to bravo hold point. After arriving at bravo we were told to contact tower. As we did so we were instructed by tower to change the runway to 09. We were then instructed to cross runway 04L, hold short of runway 9. We missed 51 and turned left on 52 and subsequently held short of runway 9. Due to the incredible lack of signs on both txwys and runways, there is a great chance of future runway incursions. With 2 runways so close together and intersecting txwys there is an urgent need for additional runway and taxiway signs at boston logan. If it had been a foggy or snowy day I'm sure we would have ended up on the wrong runway. I feel as it stands now, that this is an unsafe airport due to the inadequate signs on the ground.

Title: FLT CREW OF TWO PERSON LGT TAXIED ON WRONG TXWY AT INTERSECTION OF RWY 4/9 AT BOS.

Narrative: INITIAL INSTRUCTIONS FROM GND, 'TAXI ON INNER TO BRAVO HOLD POINT FOR RWY 4L.' THERE ARE NO SIGNS FOR GUIDANCE TO THIS AREA. THERE IS ONE VERY SMALL RED SIGN ONCE YOU ARE THERE. SINCE WE FAILED TO SEE IT WE TAXIED ONTO 'S' AND ALMOST XED RWY 4L. WE HELD SHORT OF RWY 4L AT THE INTXN OF THE OUTER AND 'S'. GND THEN INSTRUCTED US TO TURN R AND CONTINUE DOWN TO BRAVO HOLD POINT. AFTER ARRIVING AT BRAVO WE WERE TOLD TO CONTACT TWR. AS WE DID SO WE WERE INSTRUCTED BY TWR TO CHANGE THE RWY TO 09. WE WERE THEN INSTRUCTED TO CROSS RWY 04L, HOLD SHORT OF RWY 9. WE MISSED 51 AND TURNED L ON 52 AND SUBSEQUENTLY HELD SHORT OF RWY 9. DUE TO THE INCREDIBLE LACK OF SIGNS ON BOTH TXWYS AND RWYS, THERE IS A GREAT CHANCE OF FUTURE RWY INCURSIONS. WITH 2 RWYS SO CLOSE TOGETHER AND INTERSECTING TXWYS THERE IS AN URGENT NEED FOR ADDITIONAL RWY AND TXWY SIGNS AT BOSTON LOGAN. IF IT HAD BEEN A FOGGY OR SNOWY DAY I'M SURE WE WOULD HAVE ENDED UP ON THE WRONG RWY. I FEEL AS IT STANDS NOW, THAT THIS IS AN UNSAFE ARPT DUE TO THE INADEQUATE SIGNS ON THE GND.
