Narrative:

When towing a 777 aircraft into bay one the right hand wing tip almost struck the mast of a large forklift. Had the tow not been stopped contact would have been made. This forklift and several other jlg lift devices are routinely parked along the wall of bay one creating a constant strike hazard. On this particular day the forklift was not staged in its normal place which is all the way up against the wall. It was parked about 8 feet further back. Bays one and five have been the cause on several accidents over many years resulting in many aircraft damage events. Despite many requests for changes to these areas the unsafe conditions continue today with little to no active engagement from operating supervision.this high standing equipment needs to be stored outside or in a different location that eliminates the possibility of damaging aircraft.
