Narrative:

A line of WX just east of milton VOR. The controller (frequency 128.57) let us fly right up to a line of thunderstorms after we told him we could not go through it. We had to call repeatedly when we were 2 mi from the line of storms he gave us a vector right through them. There were repeated calls to advise him we could not turn to the assigned heading. He came back with 'traffic alert identification traffic 11 O'clock FL370', our altitude. We started a turn 90 degree left and a descent which he issued a turn and descent.
