Narrative:
On takeoff; number 2 engine began to have compressor stalls just prior to rotation. Tower reported 'fire' from right engine. Exercised our PIC emergency authority; flew extended box pattern and returned to the airport for an overweight landing.

Title: B737-800 flight crew reported experiencing an engine fire during the initial climb. After securing the engine; a successful return to the departure airport was accomplished.
Narrative: On takeoff; number 2 engine began to have compressor stalls just prior to rotation. Tower reported 'fire' from right engine. Exercised our PIC emergency authority; flew extended box pattern and returned to the airport for an overweight landing.
