Narrative:

In cruise flight en route at FL250. Smelled electrical burning followed by smoke in flight deck. Performed memory items followed by [QRH]. After performing required checklist contacted flight attendant (flight attendant) and she reported to us smoke and a electrical smell in cabin. I informed ATC we need to divert. Receive radar vectors from ATC. Also informed ATC we would like to have fire rescue waiting for us once we land. During the radar vector I inform the flight attendant to prepare cabin for landing I told we had 15 min to go before landing and that the plan was once we land we will stop on runway and have fire rescue inspect aircraft on the outside and if everything was ok we will not evacuate aircraft. Once on the ground had fire rescue inspect aircraft from outside and also they boarded the aircraft and made sure everything was ok. When inspection was done and everything was ok we taxied to the gate and had fire rescue follow us. At the gate we deplaned and informed passenger that there was another aircraft and crew coming to take them to [the destination]. All passengers and crews ok. No injuries.after talking to maintenance they believe it was pack 2. Was already flying with pack 1 on MEL and pack 2 decide to quit working.
