Narrative:

Had engine fire warning on left engine. Ran checklists flew airplane and returned uneventfully. Impressions from incident. It's not like a simulator where things are usually more cut and dry. Workload is quite high due to need to share and interact with cockpit crew, F/as, ATC. Being mentally prepared makes a high degree of difference in the outcome. This was a VFR return to an excellent facility. An IFR return in icing with multiple failures on such short notice would be highly challenging. A preflight briefing assuming a worst case airborne scenario will save lives but only if it's done!
