Narrative:

Cleared to land on 8L at hnl. First officer elected to land long and exit at end of runway. Received no restrictions on landing. Toward the end of runway controller told us to exit next taxiway in which we landed adjacent to. The following taxiway was used. Controller said switch to ground, 'thanks for the help.' next day my chief pilot called me in and said tower supervisor told him I exhibited less than helpful attitude. My suggestion is if they wanted an early exit, they should have told us before landing.
